Prof. Haydar Akca
Abu Dhabi University, UAE

Haydar Akca graduated in Mathematics and Astronomy from Ege University, Faculty of Science, Izmir, Turkey in 1970. Dr. Akca received Ph. D. in Applied Mathematics from Inonu University, Malatya with collaboration Helsinki University of Technology in 1983. Since then, he has been teaching in various universities. He becomes Professor in Applied Mathematics at Akdeniz University, Antalya in 1996. He has around 100 technical publications including monographs. His research interest area primarily functional differential equations, neural networks, mathematical modelling, control theory, and wavelet neural networks. He has been organizing the serial International Conference on Dynamical Systems and Applications. Dr. Akca is a member of a number of professional mathematical associations. He is the Editor –in-Chief and Editorial Board Member of number of International Mathematical Journals. At present he is Professor of Applied Mathematics at Abu Dhabi University, College of Arts and Science Department of Applied Sciences and Mathematics, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
 

Prof Abdul H Kara

Plenary Speakers

Prof.  Fares Howari
Zayed University, UAE

 Fares Howari currently serve as a Professor of Environmental Sciences, and Director of the Center of Sustainable Eco Innovation at Zayed University. He served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Applied Sciences and Mathematics at Abu Dhabi University as well as a Director of Abu Dhabi University Center of Excellence of Environment, Health and Safety (CoEHS). He is a water resources and environmental scientist with research development and administration expertise. He hold a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences and Engineering. He served as a Professor of Environmental Sciences and Engineering; and Coordinator of Environmental Sciences Program at the University of Texas, PB. Prior to that he joined the Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy (CIEEP) as program coordinator, and as an Environmental Scientist at the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Howari developed a national and international reputation in his area; he participated in more than 40 international technical meetings across continents. Dr. Howari has a broad and interdisciplinary grasp of environmental-energy issues and their technical, policy, human and social dimensions. He published 100+ publications in refereed journals, conference proceedings and technical reports.

Prof. Lazim Abdullah
Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia

Lazim Abdullah is a computational mathematics professor at the School of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in June 1984 and the M.Ed in Mathematics Education from University Sains Malaysia, Penang in 1999. He received his Ph.D. from the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, (Information Technology Development) in 2004. His research focuses on the mathematical theory of fuzzy sets and its applications to social ecology, environmental sciences, health sciences, and manufacturing engineering. His research findings have been published in over two hundred publications, including refereed journals, conference proceedings, and chapters in books, and research books. Currently, he is a Deputy Dean of his school and a member of editorial boards of several international journals related to computing and applied mathematics. He is also a regular reviewer for a number of local and international journals, member of scientific committees of several symposia and conferences at national and international levels. Dr Abdullah is an associate member, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, a member of Malaysian Mathematical Society and a member of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making.
